Hi Everyone!
Sakura are reaching their peak at many places in Kyoto. It is so beautiful in Kyoto right now!
Today, we went to Gion (blossoms 70-100% open), and Shosei-en Garden near Higashi Honga-ji Temple (blossoms 100% open) to see sakura.
I also rode the bus today, and passed the canal by the National Museum of Modern Art, where the blossoms were only open 30%, and near Ginkaku-ji Temple, where they were open 30-50%.
It was raining, but still, we had a very nice day. It’s hard not to, when the trees are covered with blossoms everywhere you look!
Tatsumi-dori Street
We started out on Gion’s Tatsumi-dori Street again, today. I have friends visiting, and they are staying in Gion, so this is a great place to start each day of our cherry blossom viewing. The sakura trees there are all very near, or at, their peak today. This is such a wonderful little street.
Shosei-en Garden
Shosei-en Garden is a large garden just north of Kyoto Station. It is near Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, and is part of the large complex that also includes Nishi Hongan-ji Temple. These three places are all a few blocks apart from each other.
I really love this garden!
That’s all for today. I am having a great time walking around Kyoto, taking pictures of these gorgeous trees, and showing them to you. I hope you are enjoying my Kyoto sakura reports!
Talk to you tomorrow!
Bua and Joe
